Everything on TrackGandhi is for free. Is the site non-commercial?
Indeed, the site is completely free of charge, and the objective of the site is absolutely non-commercial. To start, development, maintainance and hosting is paid completely by the people who took the initiate. It is clear that this situation is not sustainable when the site becomes successful. Funds will have to generated. Currently Google ads and search are added to generate the income needed to keep the site alive. In future other forms of sponsership might be added.
What kind of awards can I win with my points?
This is also something for the future when we have additional funding. As said before, it is not the intention to become commercial, but when funding would allow for it, we would like to return some of it to those who will help make TrackGandhi a success: the members.
What are the odds of notes that I have registered being found? Are the chances going up when I register more notes?
Currently, the odds that somebody else registers one of your notes again are very, very small, but that might just be the trill… Of course, the more bills you register, the higher the changes are that somebody else registers the same bill later on (or that you register a bill that has been registered before), and also the more people start registering bills, the higher the chance that the same bill is registered twice. The more people register their notes, the higher the chances become.
What is the 'secret pattern'?
We have built in 2, 3 and 4 digit patterns. When a note is registered, the serial number is checked against these patterns, and if a match is found, additional points are allocated for the registration of the note. The pattern is changed after each match.
The pattern does not have a specific meaning, it is just a little teaser...
